Skills Clinics

Ninety minutes on one skill, in a small group, with Academy coaches. Every week from November to May at Academy North and Academy West. Open to every level, members and non-members.

WhatThe clinics

One skill, 90 minutes, small groups

Each clinic focuses on a single skill, so players get many more touches than in a team practice. Coaches group players by level on each court.

Hitting

Approach footwork, arm swing and shot choice, from the first approach to hitting against a block.

Setting

Hand position, footwork to the ball and consistent location to every hitter.

Libero

Serve receive, defensive reading and the platform control a back-row specialist needs.

Serving

A reliable serve first, then float and topspin serves aimed at zones.

Girls: grades 4–10
Boys: grades 6–8
Levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced

No clinics during Thanksgiving week or the winter break. Thanksgiving camps (Nov 23–25) and winter camps (Dec 28–30) run instead. Parents are welcome to stay and watch.

A full 90 minutes on one skill gives each player far more repetitions than a team practice can.

The same coaches who run our club teams, using the same technical language your daughter or son hears all season.

  • Performance, Gold and Platinum members: clinics are included. Register through your Member Portal so your membership is applied.
